メロディを作ることのむずかしさ。
それは無限であることの難しさだ。日本語50音のうち最大で17音しか使えない俳句も、毎週月曜の朝刊が1ページ丸々埋まるほど、多くの人の手によって、膨大な数が詠まれている。芭蕉がいるからそれでおしまいということにはならない。
人間の眼は、世界の窓。気まぐれに張り付いている観音開きの窓。この窓を開き、この窓の前を通りかかる人―それは友人かもしれないし、見ず知らずの人かもしれない―に向かって声をかける。僕は必ずや、その彼か彼女かを振り向かせなければならない。さて、何と声を掛ければ良いのだろうか。メロディの難しさとはそういう難しさだ。
ヴァイオリニスト、石井有子氏のCD「ヴィオリーナの12のお話(ホマ・ドリームHR1212　10年5月)」のために09年9月に作曲、佐藤美歌氏のピアノで録音。演奏会での初演は10年11月、杉並公会堂小ホールにて、ピアノは金益研二氏。（「この作品について」）
