　このソナタは、震災と戦争があって生まれている。
　2022年、私はウクライナと日本の国交樹立30周年を記念する祝典音楽を書き、キーウに行くはずだったのだが、そのようなことなどできる環境ではなくなってしまったのは読者もご承知の通りかと思う。居ても立っても居られなかったウクライナと縁の深い友人が立ち上げたチャリティ企画のために、急ぎ新作を3曲書き、同年4月に初演した。その折に作曲したうちの1曲、ウクライナ民話『空とぶ船とゆかいななかま』の朗読のための付随音楽を拡大・展開し、演奏会用に整えたものが、このソナタの第1楽章と第２楽章である。（後略　「この作品について」より）
