　大学をひと足お先に「卒業」した僕の、「卒業作品」と言える曲だ。
　ヴァイオリン専攻の、仲の良い同級生が、学内の試験を僕の曲で受けたいと言い出した。だから、書いてくれと。そんな場所に中退者の曲を乗せようというのだから、おもしろい。当時読んでいた本のタイトルをそのままつけてしまったが、その内容を思い出せない今となっては、関連があるのかないのか、自分でもよくわからない。
　ただ、その同級生が「破壊性をともなう官能的な世界観」と楽曲解説に記してくれた一文だけは深く記憶に残っていて、僕はこれをとても気に入っている。形式的には、冒頭に提示されるエピソードが随所に挿入される、一種のパッサカリアと考えて頂いて構わない。（「この作品について」）
